John Deere 3320 with Cab
Need all the help I can get.
The hydrostatic pump in my 3320 is worn out or defective. I have 600 hours on the tractor. The charge pump on the engine is fine at 270 psi but tested the pressure coming out of the hydro drive pump (in between the back of the engine an the transmission itself is putting out 3500 psi and it should be up around 5800.
I had it into the dealer and they confirmed, the hydrostatic pump has to come out and it isn't rebuildable has to be replaced. It is a $5,500 part from John Deere (LVA 15190).

The tag is a bit worn but it is a Sauer Danfoss pump and it looks to me like: Model 1200444 LVA 13714 Serial A-08-16-08724. I contacted a dunfoss pump distributor and this was their response:

"Yes we are a Danfoss distributor but that pump is proprietary to John Deere. The model number is a John Deere number, not Danfoss. If you can get John Deere to tell you what the Danfoss model number is we can quote a much cheaper pump to you than they can. But I doubt they would do that. They have their own model number to force you to buy from them."

What I was hoping from the group that someone may have found an alternative (such as a dunfoss pump) or have access to the model number
I am frustrated, I can barely afford to buy the pump let alone have the dealer install it.
I am planning on tackling the job myself, I have a repair manual but it seems short info on this massive undertaking.
Has anyone else done it? any pitfalls I should be aware of? any direction would be appreciated
It is a lot of work, the shop expected a 10-15 hour job at least.

Not worried about how long it takes me, but some things are tricky, looking to find out where the tricky spots are

Thanks in advance
Signed- might learn the hard way

First thing the manual will say is to split the tractor. Removal of the pump isn't hsrd, just tedious. More so since you have a cabbed tractor. It would be easier if you have access to splitting jacks. I made a set for my 4300. You are welcome to borrow them if you are near TN. They just sit in the barn until the next time i might need them. Bigger question for me is why a hydro pump would fail at just 600 hrs.

I really appreciate the response. The pictures are very helpful. I wouldn't have thought to put casters on as well as levelers, that makes complete sense. I talked it over with my wife, since we are looking at the part being the bulk of the expense ($5600) and labour being around half that I think I will end up taking it in for repair after all. I would have to weld up these jack stands (which are genius by the way) as well as build a gantry to pull the cab off, figure out renting or borrowing a machine to pull out the AC, the potential for me to break stuff as well as not having warranty on the pump I realized that I am really not saving much for the amount of risk I would be taking on. What I was able to find out was LVA 13714 is the old number and the replacement pump that I will be ordering is LVA 15190 which takes a bit of mystery out of why I was finding two part numbers during my research. Hope this post helped someone in the future, It was good for me. Thanks everyone! and thank you jthibodeau89
