Remove ROPS for mowing?

Remove the ROPS for a tree? Say what? Accidents are terrrible. If you are 100% sure you will never roll the tractor while mowing, then you are one lucky guy. The only thing I know for sure (AKA 100%) that it will only be a matter of time until I roll my tractor. I just don't know when.
Quadriplegia is a terrible outcome. Worse than death. I will buy another mower to handle the grass around a tree before I do my Christopher Reeves impersonation by removing my ROPS.

No flat land here, more or less, so I doubt I would remove the ROPS on my BX2200.
That being said, common sense probably should prevail.
IF you land is flat, and you are ONLY mowing, as compared to using a FEL, and running with it fully loaded and riased rather high, then if it were ME, I certainly would not worry about removing the ROPS when mowing flat ground.
Honestly, I can't imagine lifting a wheel on my BX2200 when mowing an almost flat area I have, even if running at full speed and turning sharpy (with the MMM attached). I do have loaded tires though, but doubt that on flat ground they make a huge difference).

My lawn is flat. My riding lawn tractor does not have a ROPS. My land Is maybe 'flat", but I can tell you there are some "surprises" every year. LITTLE HOLES that appear like magic. Flat is a relative term.

That's why I recently purchased the ZTR.....I have so many trees that the ROPS was an issue for me. Even so, I cannot even imagine rolling my BX when mowing. You guys must have some really "big" hills. Here in Kansas, we're pretty "flat".
Speaking of rolling over, how many of you guys have put a skid steer on it's back or top. Spend several thousand hours in one of those on hilly terrain, and you will develop an appreciation for balance, common sense, and safety devices. After that, the BX is a piece of cake.
