I forget my model, 15hp w/ 38" deck.
How do I remove the rear wheel, which has a slow leak.
Do I pry off the center hub ?
Don't want to break anything.

I had a slow leak in mine and rather than take it off, I shot it with an aerosol fix a flat. Hasn't gone down since.

Not sure what model or what year, but there is, on some, a plastic cap on the outside that covers a snap ring. Block up the rear axle on that side first. After removing the plastic cap (twist it off with your hand) then remove the snap ring, the washer, and the wheel will slide off the axle. There is a key in the keyway that may or may not fall out when you pull off the wheel from the axle. Put the key in after you slide the wheel back onto the axle (when the flat is fixed).

None of this is necessary if you can fix it, as suggested, in-place.

My toro is set up exactly as you describe. I recently changed a tire on the rear and used a small bottle jack to press off the keyed shaft. Apparently, after 15 years or so, the rim had become attached to it's place in life. 6 tons of hydraulic power has a way of changing that. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I also have used "Fix-a flat" on my 12 HP Cub Cadet front tire 3 years ago and it hasn't gone down since

I had similar problems with my Craftsman the first year I got it. We put Slime in the tires and I've not had another flat in 3 years.

Do I need to remove the, is it a 'value stem', to use the fix-a-flat products ?

For Fix-a-flat (the kind in the aerosol can) you don't remove anything - just attach the can and pump up the tire with the pressure/gunk in the can.

But, as I understand it, none of these are intended to be premanent.

<font color="green"> Slime, </font> on the other hand is (more or less) permanent . But you do have to unscrew the valve core, put in the slime, screw the valve core back in and pump up the tire.
