They used dynamite to cut the tree into short enough lengths that they got it down from the power supply line

I thought it looked like an explosive, then I wondered how they got the charge (two charges?) on the fallen log near the electric lines? I guess they could shoot a rope over the log and pull the charges up into place.

I don't think so. That looks like primacord.
Second look, you could be right but it looks like primacord used to initiate the explosive charges.

I trim limbs away from mine with a 12gauge with a extra full turkey choke. Works great.
