I recently purchased a Spartan Go Cam cell camera and learned that my hunting land had finally been inhabited by a group of pigs. I was not sure how many but wanted to get rid of as many as possible. I contacted a buddy of mine who has a hog trap and he agreed to set it up for awhile on my property.

I first saw the pigs on Feb 13, and by yesterday we had removed 25 pigs from the property. First catch was 14, then 6, then 3, then 2. Here are a couple of shots of the pigs in the trap.

It is doing a bang up job for just looking like hog panels wired to t-posts with a trap door on a line and pulley.

What keeps them from digging out or breakin the panels off the posts?

And as C-4 Ranch asked: What is the trigger for the trap door?

Man I wouldn't have the heart to relocate all those hogs anywhere but into my freezer.

Good work.. How do u trigger the door?

A rope goes from trap door, to a pulley above, to a pulley in the tree in back, and then down to the ground to the "trip". Here is picture of the trip. They eat the corn from underneath and trip it as they raise up, or walk into it.

I'm curious why you built it around a tree? Do you remove them live?

Doesn't take long for a domestic pig to go feral. In Wisconsin we have permission to shoot on sight.

Are you able to sell them in your area? We sell the live ones we trap for about $0.40/Lb The guy comes out with his trailer, backs it up to the trap and runs them into the trailer. They have to be at least 100 lbs for him to take them. Apparently they sell the meat in restaurants up north as "wild boar".
