I believe I have a bad ignition switch and want to remove it. I've unplugged the wiring, but I'm not sure exactly how to remove the ignition assembly. Do you just pull it out from behind? I wanted to check before I tried that. I've attached two pictures of the switch.

Symptoms are I have to jiggle the key sometimes to get it to start the glow plugs and start the tractor. It happened twice with the last time having a hard time to start the tractor. Since jiggling the key makes it work, I thought the ignition switch would be the best place to start.

One more question, does the black 'cover' on the back half of the ignition come off? I wanted to try cleaning all the electrical connections in the slim chance that might fix it. It does not seem to want to come off easily, and I don't want to damage anything yet before I know for sure it is the problem.

For anyone's benefit that searches for this later, the issue was the starter relay (correct name). Mine was a pain to get the wiring connected, but other than that, it was a straightforward repair.
