I always wondered about that. For nitrogen to exist as a liquid is must be kept very cold. I wonder now what he gave me.
It's not pure N -- Liquid nitrogen fertilizer is a mix of two compounds: urea and ammonium nitrate. These are combined and dissolved in water to make liquid nitrogen fertilizer, also known as urea ammonium nitrate or UAN.

I posted the original question in this thread and am very grateful of excellent comments and suggestions.

I made the mistake of cutting down a dozen trees of heaven a couple of years ago, and they have been replaced with about 100 more!

It looks like a basil bark or hack-and-squirt treatment is best for trees of heaven.

It sounds like we will be kept busy for years to come. We are still doing research on the right chemical treatments and the best tractor size tractor and implements to purchase to help in clearing some areas to start treatment.

Thanks again
Gary

Only one othe post eariler recommonded Crossbow. I believe it's a stick foliar. I have used it on my
Autumn Olives, Honey Suckle as well as Tag Alder. Kills them dead!!!! No re-growth from the trees I sprayed. That’s not to say the 10,000 berry seed the birds have s#*t out all over my pasture aren’t now growing though. It’s a never ending battle:yell:
