Tires Removing loaded tires

Here was how I did it several years back:

Each of my rear tires has 775# of Rimguard. This means each of my rear tires weighs close to 1100#. There is no way that I'm set up for a DIY project involving my rear tires.

Have a very FIRM understanding of what each tire weighs. THEN decide if you are setup to handle it.

Thanks for all the ideas.
I read in a chart my rimguard is over 500# alone.

A regular old shovel and a block helps a lot to put tire back on. I fool with log skidder tires and tree cutters. Got 4 off as I type.

Discovered an issue with rear tire rims on my L3940 cracking at the lugs. . Looks like I can get a new disc for it. Just worried about the weight of removing the tire. I have BH so no problem jacking it up. View attachment 754795
I had this problem and I solved it by taken a 1/4 flat steel and cut a round plate big enough to cover all of the bolts. Then I drilled hole in them it to match bolt holes then put plate on an bolted it down. I have not had any problem since and I even have Foam filled tires that makes them real heavy.

Did you need longer bolts?

Use the hoe to lift the tractor up, put blocks under it, then use the hoe to remove the tire (if the hoe isn't on the same tractor).

On my 4300, I have industrial R4's so just jack up the tractor and keep the tire upright. They are liquid filled and heavy but not impossible to move around.

Sorry to see the serious cracks in your wheel.

I remember something about using 2 pieces of plywood on top of another under the tire…. Helped to slide the tire/rim on and off the studs. A wee pump on the bottle jack to get the height just right. Tricky part going back on was having the tire in the right ‘rotation’ position.

To get the rotation right, rotate the hub while the rim stays stationary. Might be a 2-man job with a heavy tire.

It would be really handy to have some way to hang a come-a-long from above, like from a beam or another tractor loader, propped up for safety, of course. Then the tire can be micro adjusted to get the right height.

Hanging it from above will always be more stable than balancing it on something from below.
