We have painted concrete board on the outside of the house. Occasionally, I’ll find a mud wasp nest and break it apart.

Unfortunately , there always remains a good part that sticks to the board. Anyone have idea on how to remove the last mud?

Water from a Power Washer.. :D

Seriously, if you are worried a pressure washer will damage the paint, try a strong stream from a hose and/or lightly scrub with a outdoor broom and a little soap.

Or just leave it another will along shortly to build there again.

We get them frequently under the eves of our textured vinyl siding. The remnants of the nest are indeed tough to remove. If you don't remove it all, the wasps quickly build a new nest in the same spot. I use a Rotox nozzle on my pressure washer, which does a good job. Might be tough on a painted surface though.

They make brushes for washing vinyl siding that might be less aggressive on your paint than using a pressure washer.

Usually, mud-daubers get their mud supply nearby. Like the condensate drain from the A/C etc. I sprinkle a little bit of Sevin dust on those spots and it helps knock their numbers down.

Strong water stream for removing the nest remnants.

I usually just rub them away. Either with my fingers, or a stiff brush. It might not get 100% of the dirt, but it's enough that it doesn't bother me anymore.

Am I the only one who likes the mud wasps? We deal with so many nasty yellow jackets and bald-faced hornets, that I find the black mud wasps downright docile and entertaining. I just leave them alone, they don't seem to be a huge problem around here.

Yellow jackets are the only ones I eradicate on-sight. I hate those bastards. Other wasps and hornets are treated depending on the location they've chosen to build. For example, inside our patio umbrellas is a forbidden zone. :D
