Howdy everyone
I'm j Tim Rainey and new to this forum. Lots of good information here representing millennia of experience.
I was looking for information on how to pull a Bush Hog stump jumper and found some good tips. Our 13' Bush hog is at least 50 years old. (It's amazing how well farm equipment can hold up if properly maintained.)
Finally the supports started to crack, so we took the power heads loose, removed the blades to remove the stump jumper, and the fun began. Heated the shaft, pounded on the jumper through the blade access hole, heated the shaft, etc.etc. Finally, thinking outside of the box, we accessed the spline from the deck side, then heated the heck out of it. Two bangs with a sledge dropped the jumper. Heating the splined shaft where it exited the stump jumper didn't work. Had to get above and between the jumper and the power head to get it to drop. Hope this helps someone out there.
