Looks Good! :thumbsup: My neighbor has an old JD yard tractor with a rototiller setup similar to what your Roper has. Yes, it uses a V-belt drive. He gardens with it all year. His garden is about 15 x 30 which allows for plenty of corn, tomatoes, peppers, chili peppers, squash, and zucchini. :)

Thanks! I really didn't want to do the red and black, because being I'm only 20 miles away from UGA Country everyone and their neighbor paints their stuff Red & Black :cool: and I've never fell into the UGA Crave;) I simply had these colors on my shelf and needed to use them, Plus am on a budget,;) If the tractor continues to workout well, I'll more than likely change it to a HEMI Orange & Black, and thought about having the words either, Mow-Power or Ro-Plower written down the sides of the hood;) its a Mopar thang!:D

That's quite a transformation for that Roper but I hope the tin is off the head just for the picture. Looks great. Yep, a video would be good with that tiller socked deepNdirt.:D

The engines side cover tins were some ofthe last things I painted, actually I almost forgot about them, I'll be putting them back on today, along with trying to find a larger diameter cable for the lift, the tiller needs a way to be planted more firmly to the ground,so I will be thinking of a way to do this, perhaps some sort of extra weight applied, it bounces which is what I think lead to stretching of the cable,

I use compressed air to blow off the cooling fins and air channels on my Kohler K321 every second mowing. Even so, last season I had occasion to remove some of the sheet metal side covers, and I found caked on grass clippings that my normal blowing procedure was not removing. It is indeed important to analyze the entire airflow pattern from the flywheel fan blades on through the covers and fins, and keep them clean. My Kohler has a hole on each side of the engine that is apparently there to allow blowing air back through the intake air screen and flywheel fan blades. I think it's also important to wash off the oil and clipping dust coating that will form on the engine crankcase area, since that coating interferes with heat losses from those surfaces. My original removal and inspection of the cooling sheet metal was the result of getting vapor lock ( in this case the fuel in the carb. was boiling) when using winter grade gasoline. I cleaned out the grass clippings, installed a second carburetor gasket on top of the first, and was then able to use up the higher volatility winter gasoline .
