Geez. I didn't know where better to ask or put this one. I had a tenant that just moved out of an apartment and it seems they had a hampster that got loose sometime before the move. Guess the "No Pets" rule didn't mean much. Seems they forgot to tell me upon departure and just stopped by today to see if my other Tenant had heard or seen a hampster. That won't happen unless the little bugger eats through drywall. Seems they also spent two additional nights after they had moved the furniture out trying to lure this thing out, so I'm now advised. All this is after a full security deposit refund of course. They were rather good Tenants other than this. So here's the dilemma. I don't have a clue how to trap or catch a hampster short perhaps of a rat trap of some type or poison. I'd really rather this thing not crawl up into the walls and decompose for a month or so while I can't re-rent the apartment. I also don't want to lease to someone until I know this is resolved. No renter deserves that. It's a very nice apartment repainted and cleaned, ready to go. I'd really rather not kill the darn thing although I'm not beyond that if it's the only option. Anybody got any ideas on what to do with this one?
