- John Deere 4066R Cab w/ H180 and 4-in-1 Bucket
Finally dried up long enough to get started. Only did some of the really bad areas, figure will do the rest and overseed this fall.
I forgot to take pictures or video using the power rake; it took a while to get used to and find the sweet spots for caster height, drum depth, angle and debris shield level -- but by the end I think I found a decent rhythm. It seems to have done an awsome job producing a clean and level seedbed going in a cross pattern.
I did however get video using the conservation seeder @ April Fescue Seeding with John Deere 4066R and Frontier CS1384 - YouTube
Ended up going with a Tall Fescue blend called Five Star, and seeded at about 280lbs per acre for this bare dirt.
Still have probably 30lbs or so in the seeder hopper with no real easy way to empty it without using it... hoping I can take a shop-vac and vacuum it into a clean bucket without damaging the seeds.
Now let's hope it comes up and produces a good healthy stand before the heat of summer sets in!
