Renting Hydraulic Attachments.

First question; Can HYDRAULIC attachments be rented anywhere ?

Second question; Could there be a fluids compatibility issue with rented attachments ?
In other words, are all tractor hydraulic fluids compatible and mixable, or would there be mutual pollution between tractor and rented attachments ?

There are places that rent them, but more commonly it's skid-steer style stuff that's rented.

I personally would not use a hydraulic attachment that's history is unknown, especially with a machine that has a hydrostatic transmission. The risk of contamination is just to great for me...kind of like kissing your sister

I think filters block contaminants, I was asking more about chemical compatibility.

I rent them occassionally, even knowing that they probably have a different hydraulic fluid then mine. To worry over the minimal mixing of fluid is not worth the time. Heck, maybe the last guy who used it had better fluid than yours! People sometimes get too uptight about oil and hydraulic fluids.

I'd be more worried about contaminants like water. For an older tractor particulates would be less of an issue as the hydraulics would have some wear already-- no filter catches every particle.

Promiscuous hydraulic implements, you know what they say, it's like connecting your tractor to every other tractor that hydraulic implement has been intimate with!
