My wheels are starting to look faded. What is the best, economical way to repaint?

Would you tape off the tires or put petroleum jelly on them?

No, I would not use petroleum jelly as that is a mess. Cut pieces of drywall tape (8-10 inches) and stick around the bead and stick in place with blue painter's tape. 10 minutes tops.

Anybody have a source for rattle cans other than dealer? Is AC orange equipment paint the same color? I have some paint in a can but I need a couple cans for touch up.

One idea that looked good was using a deck of cards and sliding them in around the perimeter of the wheel.

I saw the trick on Youtube. They took a roll of flashing ran it around the outside of the rim and once they had it in place a couple of pieces of duct tape and you are ready to go.

Finally got around to painting wheels. I went with PPG equipment enamel and was very disappointed. Did not cover or go on well. The color was a little on the pink side but that is on me as I gave him the code. I took it back and have them tweak the color a bit. It still did not suit me. I went back a 3rd time and picked up a can ACE AC orange. I brought it home and could not be happier with the look. I will try to get some pictures this week.
