Repair manuals

I was wondeirng if anyone has any ideas or ,links to the best repair manual fro a ford 1720 tractor. I find some on Amazon, but unsure if they are very detailed.

Absolutely. i use I&T manuals on all my tractors.. I got a stack of them on my desk. Some are better than others.. but most are helpfull.

Tractor supply may sell these locally.. though hard to beat amazon prices..

I spend time on Ebay and Amazon searching for manuals that I want and if I keep looking I eventually find what I am looking for. Between Amazon and Ebay you should find what you need.
If you really feel you need serious details try to get dealer repair/shop manuals they usually have the most detailed step by step methods, but are usually much more expensive.
Like Soundguy wrote, the IT manuals are pretty much all most people need and they are readily available. The price listed on Amazon is cheaper than the ones on Ebay.

And it seems that the ones I needed were the bad ones. I've never been all that impressed with the I&T manuals I read. They left too many details out. But then again, I only looked at 2 of 'em. Obviously, they have some good in them. They sell THOUSANDS. (and, the only one I DID like was for my 3000 Ford. Seems they dropped the ball on the John Deere manuals though)

When scrounging for detailed info on most any subject, the more info you have at your disposal, the better off you are. In the case of John Deere and Massey Ferguson manuals (which I have most of my personal experience with) I like to have "O.E.M." owners manuals, service manuals, and PARTS manuals. The parts manuals are the most helpfull to me. They generally have exploded views of all major components, and when there's several possible variants, they usually list serial number breaks for what components are used on what tractors.

In every case I know of, I've been able to get those manuals from the dealers/manufacturers. That route generally is more expensive than EBAY.
