I use a plastic coffee can (1 lb size) with a hard drive magnet in it to use as a beverage holder. It will accomodate a can with a koozy on it just right.

I've used a nitrile glove and a sandwhich baggie to house a magnet in a parts cleaner.. also great for picking up a knocked over can of screws!

Parts washers can certainly be improved with a powerful magnet to collect magnetic debris. If you first wrap the magnet in tape, you can unwrap it to dispose of the metal debris. Sometimes I would wrap a very very powerful magnet in a piece of an old plastic shopping bag and use the powerful magnet to clean lesser magnets. You can subsequently clean the super magnet by removing the plastic.

I've got a slow moving vehicle sign that I attach to my horse drawn carriage or tractor with a few magnets. That way I have the sign when I'm going down the road, but It's not in the way or getting banged up when I'm driving or working around the yard.

I have a couple SMV plaques on my mower.. but I also have 1 plaque with 3 bar magnets on it, and I slap it on the back of my tractor seat so i got an extra one up higer than the rear mower deck to make it easier to see.. plus if I have to move an implement with no plaque.. i can grab the one from the seat and slap it on and be legal..

Well, yes, even if IOWA is a four letter word!

Oh, and another magnet use. I have a couple magnets on top of my drill press pulley belt cover. They keep the chuck key handy. I also lay a shop towel up there held in place by a magnet. That will let you put some bits there ini the magnet and the rag protects things from vibrating and wearing the paint. The magnets are powerful enough to hold the key even when opening the lid to change belt positions. I don't trust the magnets to hold larger bits when inverted by opening the lid but stronger magnets would take care of that.

I have to open the cover on my drill press when using it so it doesn't rub on the belts so I can just put things in the cover!
