Anybody have any knowledge of these ?

The new prince type pump runs my poultry caking machine way faster at the same PTO rpm.

Like TOO FAST.
I’m sure I’ll have to run it at a slower rpm.

Both are rated at 2300psi 540 PTO rpm.

Was the old original pump wore out so was not pumping like new? Other wise per your statement should be very similar flow rates.

Yes the original 10yo pump was worn out had been rebuilt once & was pouring fluid bad out of input seal getting fluid scalding hot.

It was awful weak too choking down & stalling in deep litter.

The original pump having that gearbox says 2.85:1 gear reduction.

It must have slowed the pump way down so it wouldn’t turn the machine so fast.

I suspect the 2.85 was a speed increaser since pumps don’t typically like running slow.

If oil getting scalding hot also indicates excessive leakage.

Blowing shaft seal also indicated high leakage in a gear pump.

How big is the oil reservoir you are drawing out of?

Unless it's huge.....if you are operating continuously at 20+GPM and 2000+psi and no cooler....oil is going to get VERY hot regardless

The implement mfg told me the old gearbox sped the pump up … idk.

I assumed it slowed the pump down since it was so much Slower at idle than the new pump w/o the gearbox.
Two totally different style pumps I know but both are almost identical gpm & psi rating.

The reservoir tank holds 30gals.
No cooler but I’d guess 40-50’ of hoses the fluid travels thru before it gets back to the tank.

It’s not ran at max psi continuously but it is ran for 5-6hrs strait sometimes.

It’ll be 2wks before I can run machine in the chicken house seeing how / what it’ll do
