Replaced battery today after 12 years and 5 months

The battery in my 2000 Toyota Tundra which was bought new in October 1999 still has the original battery. That's 13 years and 8 months. My 1996 Toyota Avalon and my 1999 Toyota Camry had the original batteries go almost 10 years.

Darn... you got me beat.

In all fairness... Mom did leave the dome light on all night when the battery was 6 years old... I caught heck for charging it when EVERYONE said just buy your Mom a new one after 6 years.

I turned in another core and kept the battery and if I can figure out how to add water to it I will put on a charger and then load test...

Too bad the USA made Delco Freedom appear to be a relic from the past...

Anyone old enough to remember when lifetime warranties were in vogue?

Collected a few time on a battery I bought in 1973...

Still have a few Midas lifetime muffler warranties too...

I Liked the (JC PENNY) batteries?? had two of those each go 12+ years. that was a long, long time ago. Since they are no longer made, have been buying the (Johnson Controls) batteries and they seem to last. The Interstates have been well regarded to... And also as was stated by the OP AC DELCO Freedom with the dot

I am sorry but since when is an AC Delco battery OEM for a Toyota? Isn't AC Delco a GM company? I have never seen AC Delco in anything but a GM.

Glad to shed some light...

In 2001, Mom bought her one and only new car and we were invited to watch it being made from shell to drive off at the NUMMI joint GM/Toyota plant in Fremont CA...

Toyota Corollas and Chevrolet Geo Prism's went down the same line... some were Toyota and some Chevrolets...

All had AC Delco at the day I was there...

Still on the OEM Battery in my 2002 Jeep TJ.

I am dreading the day it croaks. I have nothing but bad luck with new vehicle batterys, and no matter the brand.

I would just drop in another Chrysler unit, but they are not the same company they were in 02'.

After flattening the battery in my Subaru a couple of times I replaced all the interior (dome and puddle) lights with LEDs. Have never left a door ajar since but I "think" they should protect me.

I am on the OEM battery on my 1999 F250. I took delivery of it in Oct 1998. Nearing 15 years. I've had the replacement sitting here ready to go for a few years and I hope it is still good when the original gives up. No bulging, or anything.
