Ok going to replace the 8n with ? I would like some suggestions as to which model I should look at...Probably not going with something new. I would like to use the existing implements that I currently have which are a 5'bb, and a 5'brush hog. Also need a model that can use a belly mower. Looking for something that can replace the 8n and my current lawn garden mower. One machine with the vesatilty of 2. Any Ideas?:thumbsup:

I replaced my 8N last summer with a 2009 L3940 HST. Main work for the 8N was 6' finish mower, 7' back blade (snow), and other general duties. Now the 8N is regulated to shows and fairs. I still use the 6' finish mower on the L3940, the HST and independant pto are sweet. I have a 7' front blade on the L3940 for the snow. I have also ran a 6' bushog on the L3940, something I could not do with the 8N. Size wise, the L3940 is slightly taller and longer than the 8N. The main decision for getting the L3940 over the L4240 is that the L3940 is the largest Kubota you can put a MMM on, in case I ever chose to do that in the future. I have a B2920 and a 5' rotary cut mower and box blade plus the MMM. In the current lineup of Kubotas, I would thing the the B2620 or 2920 would be the smallest to work reasonably with the 5' rotary mower and box blade. This series also has the drive-over MMM which is pretty easy to remove or re-install, so makes it pretty versatile and if you drop the FEL which is a less than 5 minute job, you can end up with a pretty decent mower of yard like quality work. The B7800/B3200 would probably handle the BB and rotary cut mower a little easier as they weigh a bit more, but a little heavier on they yard I suppose when you are mowing it. There is also the B2630 in the current line which offers some nice features including position control for the 3pt and would probably be a good fit, but it comes at a premium.
My opinion would be the BX would be too small for the 5' equipment you want to continue to use and in the L series, I think you have to go to a Grand L to keep the MMM capability.
I don't know the prior models well enough to give much of an opinion on them.

My first tractor was an 8n - it did a lot of work. I had a nice side-mount sickle bar that floated like a butterfly. After a ton of research I replaced the 8n with a Kubota L345DT with 4wd, 8 speeds, live 2-speed pto, power steering, 4-cylinder diesel, full-function hydraulic loader, 12 volt work lights etc. etc. and never looked back.
Some older Kubota L models that would be similar are L345, L355, L2650, L2850, L2950. On older machines the implements that are model-specific like belly mower and front loader are hard to find used - so best to find a tractor that already has them with it. You should be able to find a fully equipped rig with under 2k hours in decent shape for $8k - $11k (not that different from what they sold for new).

I replaced my 8N with a BX23. What a difference that was. I'll never go back. Have a belly mower in addition to the FEL & BH..All in one machine.
Appears that some of the PTO implements might be too big for the SCUT's though..Might have to look at an Kubota L or maybe a large B series for a seamless transition.
The difference in machines cannot be described. I liked the antique aspect of the 8N..But that wore off once I had a full load in the FEL.
