Replacing Battey on Ford 2000, 1967, Gas, 3 cyl

Hi,
I am looking to get a new battery for my 1967 Ford 2000, 3 cyl, Gas.
The current one says 530 CCA on it.
Do I need a battery that large for a Gas tractor ?

I will be using it to plow snow off my driveway in Northern Vermont.

I would say yea, a battery at least that big. I really dont think you can get much smaller without going to a lawnmower style anyway. And there isnt much difference in price either. A 500cca battery may be $50-$60 and a 1000cca is only $70-$80.

Old tractors crank slow enough anyway. It wont hurt a thing to go bigger, and you may get better battery life out of it. And since you mention using it to plow snow, thats another reason for bigger. Cause batteries and cold dont like eachother too well.

Agree with LD1, buy the bigest one you can fit & afford for your tractor. The key here is your location, cold morning starts, you'll be glad you did.

check the bci battery chart.. get measurements.

get the biggest CCA bat your wallet can handle and you can cram in.

excess cca never hurt anybody.

helps to have it if ya need it.

having extra never hurts!
