Replacing L3901 with MX5400

The dealer filled my rear tires. I assume that's why this tractor beats the tar out of me just driving across my lawn. I can't even imagine what it would be like in a rough pasture. I've even browsed online for an air ride seat...

Strange. My 5400 is pretty smooth on the lawn, though I try to stay off it since it's bad for the grass. But when I'm in the field, I have to admire the stresses the front tire knuckles are under as I deal with really variable terrain. Even with my bad back I don't feel it's beating the tar out of me, but I go _very slow_ out of respect for the terrain, so that I don't become a rollover statistic. My rears are filled with beret juice, my fronts are inflated toward the high end of the range to keep the tires on the rims.

Without knowing your tire pressure it’s hard to compare. Correctly filled tires don’t make it ride harder. Each 2psi difference in a large tractor tire changes the feel and traction significantly. Liquid compatible tire pressure gauge helpful.

Newly filled tires slowly lose pressure over the first few years I think till the fluid and air reach saturation equilibrium. There might be stretching or tire material interactions too. Then hold pretty steady. Calcium chloride, ethylene glycol or methanol ballast about the same. See the same with sealant filled tires at first.

Thanks for the replies about the rough ride. This is only my second tractor and it's my first with filled tires. I've only got a few hours seat time at this point and have not checked the tire pressure. I will do so in the immediate future and report back.
