Replacing Tires - Crazy Idea?

I need to replace both front tires on my Mahindra 2615. Would it be safe to lift the front end with the FEL? Then lower the front end onto two jack stands as illustrated in the photo below. I would block the rear wheels to prevent movement while on the jack stands. I've already broken loose the wheel bolts. If this is a crazy idea, would it be safe to use a floor jack to lift one wheel at a time, remove the wheel, reinstall the wheel with a new tire? Then repeat the process for the other side.

Will work just fine with lifting the front with the loader and putting it on jackstands.

I do it every year before winter to reverse wheels for chain mounting. Not even using jack stands.

You can definitely do it one at a time as well.

Safety experts will tell you not to leave something up on a jack as it could fail, of course. Particularly a hydraulic jack.

Holy Cow, new member from 2007! Of course that will work, I prefer the jack stand method for safety I guess. I have skid steer tires on the front of my Kubota btw.

Your post reminded me of an incident many years ago...
Just starting to plow / blow a 36" blizzard I rolled a front tire off the rim. I was really rattled, as I plow 15+ long rural drives and my phone was ringing off the hook. It TOTALLY eluded me that I could raise the front end with the loader, and I stretched a combination of electrical cord, compressor, and air hose to get an air jack down to the tractor. It worked, but was obviously not necessary.

I usually plan out unfamiliar tasks much better, but that day I lost it. I will be replacing the front R4's soon, and will raise the front end with the loader and use jack stands.

It's called working smarter, not harder. The loader is already there, might as well use it as advantage.
