Replacing trailer brake battery with capacitors

How long do the brakes stay on? My guess is they wouldn't do 15 seconds running off capacitors.

Most state laws require brakes to hold for 15 minutes. Four wheel brakes draw 12 amps. I don't think many LI packs will do that without overheating.

Thank you for the lively debate! I enjoy the banters greatly. I think I'll pull the battery out and put in on a maintainer. Long term I'll make a quick plug connect so it'll be just a slap it on and go.

If you want to make it unforgettable, use a vehicle side plug to match the light plug. You will never forget to plug the battery back in that way.

This is how we have done it for 20 years. Cheap and easy!
