Steve, things are somewhat back to normal, we are back in the house but I am still fighting the county and insurance company on the other house. My days start at 5 am, go to work, come home and work till dark around here. My off day is Monday this quarter so I have a long weekend every week, working myself to death, I think I have lost about 30 pounds since I last saw you. Too old for this adventure. Will not go through this again, we will just walk away and put hogs on this property. Bill

That means nothing. The 3T84 was also used in the 2310, 2402, 2420, 3000, 3220, 3810, 4220, and probably others.

If I can find someone with a means to read RPM off the PTO I'll post the readings..I could be wrong but, until I can prove it we'll go with your 20 %. I just don't believe my tractor produces any 37 hp

The YM240 and YM2000 have identical engines in every way, if that helps.

Well crud - I'm even more confused after reading this thread :(
What I'm looking for is a YM2000 with FEL/ROPS. best-used-tractors prices are somewhat high compared to my research.

Personally I wouldn't buy a VN rebuild if they were the last tractor around. There is a reason they get sent there for rebuild! A little diesel tractor with only a few hundred hours should not be needing a "rebuild". They take junk tractors that wont sell greymarket wise in Japan and get them running. It's like buying the fish from the bottom of the barrel. Shop around and you can get a good one. But it's not as easy as it was a few years ago.

Is that "Jerry" in Alabama??

I'm not sure, I just followed the link from earlier in the thread. I don't know the seller but I know the equipment and the people he buys it from better than I should, unfortunately.

I could be wrong, but I don't think their prices are high for what they are. I sell the same model & loader for 50 bucks less, which ain't much, so we're right in the same ballpark.... and that's with a MUCH smaller dealer margin than the guys selling the bull dog & vloader equipped vn machines. I admit that our prices are closer to the top of the used Yanmar market than the bottom, but when you consider the low hours, US-reconditioning (with actual repair and dyno records), UTDA safety equipment, high quality and easily serviceable US-made loader, and 1 year warranty, the pricing makes good sense. If you're a decent shade tree mechanic with the time to work on a used machine and get it up to snuff then you can surely get out the door for less.... but if you want to get a solid, well tested machine that works right and will continue to work for many years with minimal headache, looks nice and has good resale, is equipped with safety equipment, top quality implements, and loader...then I don't think we can be beat... of course I'm biased....but mainly from lots of experience with the other stuff. Bottom line, we want our machines to be cheapest after a year, or 2, or 5 of operation....that's much harder to achieve than just having the cheapest up front price, but it's better for the buyer IMO....
Just my 2「.... good thread..... keep em coming!

ProdaddyTX, you and the rest of the UTDA dealers here do not have to back up for any one. When doing my research before buying I discovered the UTDA and their standards, after that, If it was not a UTDA tractor I was not interested. My shiney new paint may have had a run or two and maybe a ding in the sheetmetal but the guts of the tractor were right and that is what counts. Steve, my dealer is around when/if I need him. Someone else can have their bulldog and vloader as for me I will keep my koyker.
