Tractor
Kioti DK55
Hello again, I have looked at and driven several different tractors. JD,NH,Montana,Kubota, massey, kioti. Haven't driven a Mahindra yet. and not sure I'm going to....Just came from Mahindra forum and it seems that the main topic is resale value....I plan on buying a tractor and keeping it for several, several years so. I'm not really interested in resale value....
I was trying to find out some info on the M tractor, but the forum didn't really help me and so I went to site for info. seems to be basically the same as other brands, but no good all angle pictures..just specs....
I may be out of line, but I was wondering how the Mahindra stacks up against the kioti price wise?.....
there are no dealers of any tractors near me, so I am just trying to save another trip.....I am seriously considering a DK55.....but would like to know about the Mahindra.....cost is a consideration
If this is not a legit question then just ignore..thanks Mike

I cannot speak to the resale value of a DK55 but for someone keeping a tractor for a long time I can speak to parts pricing. I had to do a lot of work on a older Kioti I purchased (it was damaged by severe neglect) and I do not believe I could have found better parts pricing on any brand of tractor. Reasonable is an understatement. Also I found dealer support to be excellent. Now for you guys that actually have sold a Kioti, have at it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mahindra tractors are probably priced about like Kioti tractors in most regions. They are higher in some, lower in others.

The major difference that I've seen is that for the same money, Kioti will generally have more standard features, and a plus is that they build their own tractors, Mahindra is pieced out.

When I say Kioti builds their own, I mean the tractor with the exception of some parts like hydraulic pumps etc. Kubota and Kioti are the only two brands that don't source out their builds all over the place. I think this is one reason that Kioti parts are less expensive than most others, although Kubota appears to be proud of their parts!

Mahindras, like Kioties tend to offer heavier machines in their model classes. I like that. The major difference I noticed when buying was that the Kioti was more comfortable to operate, for me, and simply seemed to be better built in the long run.

My brother just bought a Mahindra that is of similar size to my CK20HST, and it's pretty nice, but he paid a good bit more than I did, and I noticed, working side-by-side on his property, that his was a lot louder than my CK, something I had not been able to discern when I was simply out looking and trying.

Side-by-side is not always possible to do and I'm glad I got the chance to experience this comparison.

I had taken pictures of the rears of most of the tractors I checked out so that I could compare what each looked like.
The Kioti, by far, looked beefier than any, and for the money, I was sold.

I was on a 3 week trip to Mexico when he decided he wanted to buy it. He said he couldn't get in touch with me, and couldn't remember what brand mine was, he's a dumb-A$$ about a lot of things, this included.

After he saw our tractors side-by-side, he said he was sorry he didn't wait until I got back if that means anything! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
