OK, so I managed to run my 2538 out of diesel.
The procedure, as many know, is to fill the tank, open the bleeder on the injector pump, turn on key, crank a bit, and watch for air bubbles and fuel, then wait for fuel only, and you should be good to go.
Fill the tank
Open bleeder, turn on key, crank.... No air bubbles, no fuel.
Crap.
Opened the drain on the fuel filter/water seperator. Fuel flows fine.
So I needed to get fuel from the filter to the injector pump.
My solution was to crack the bleeder on the injector pump, and pressurize the fuel system by blowing into the tank. I was in the woods, so this was manual. Basically made a seal with the outside of my mouth (think goatee area) and blew into the tank. 10 seconds later, fuel comes sputtering out of the bleeder.
Closed bleeder, and cranked, and viola! Running tractor.
