restored dash on my 1802d

I've been tinkering with the tractor for the last few weeks with more stuff waiting to come back from the powder coat shop. I did get the dash support cowl back and they did a gorgeous job of it. I repainted the black plastic dash and replaced the fuel/temp gauges as my originals were thrashed from years of outdoor neglect. Cleaned up some engine areas and installed a new cooling fan/hoses and fan belt while I was in there. I changed the front axle lube and just from sitting it developed a leak at the knuckle joint. Not looking forward to replacing that.
One of the "improvements" was adding an oil pressure gauge and voltmeter.

Yours needs to be on Ebay beside the Museum quality 336. :thumbsup: I really admire someone like you that wants things looking nice. You must have surely waxed the fan the way it shines.

For what it is worth you might try Lucas Power steering leak stop on your 4 wheel drive leak. Nothing to lose. I had an old thread on changing spindle bearings and seals on my old 2002d (identical to your 1802). If you jack up a front wheel and find any looseness at the top spindle your seals won't hold to long. I know from experience.

You are doing a great and beautiful job.

I'd like to ask you a question though, since you have your dash apart and the power shift mechanism. Is there an adjustment for the power shift that adjusts what is indicated in the power shift window. In other words, on my 2020 D, I sometimes put it into neutral where the selector looks like it's in neutral but the transmission or the power shift is actually in Reverse or first. So I'm wondering how to adjust it so it drops into neutral and the selector window also says neutral

Actually, my property is nothing but dirt. The fine powder gets everywhere. I wanted to be able to rinse this thing and put it away.

Winston, I was laughing at your comment since I too, was thinking someone will say something about the museum quality tractor! The fan blade is new as mine was chipped. Belts and hoses were original and cracking.
I will check on the spindle security. I have a new bottle of rear main oil seal stop leak. Think that will work?
And last but not least, I wish I weren't so into keeping things looking new. It does cost money and sometimes I lose sleep over trivial things like rock chips on a new car, dirt on a newly painted house....etc. I attribute this crap to my obsessive need to make whatever I own last forever.

Scotty, Mine is a gear drive transmission. I pulled the steering box out since it was full of water and brown sludge. Of course, I am rebuilding that too, but the opening revealed under the box is where the clutch fork is. I will grease that ever so slightly. Clutch looks new so the Vietnamese must have taken a piece of **** tractor (mine) and put it back together. I do know that the parts on it belong to an 1802d as there are stampings on the castings reflecting my model number.
