Hillsville, VA isn't any good... <insert evil grin here> Been coming up here since the late 80's. Hate it every time... <same grin> I would like to discourage anyone from coming here... Nothing like a good old "...magazine articles about it..." to totally distroy a nice area.

There is talk about changing the "no zoning regulations" around here. I think it was because not too far from me, someone put in an ATV / motocross track... you can kiss your piece and quite good bye for ever.

We really like that area, and I don't own an ATV . We stop at Fancy Gap a lot when we pass thru that area. Carroll and Grayson co's are the area's I want to check in July, I'll be down in NC near mt airy at a boy scout camp. Always wondered how winters were there on the mountains.
I just need someone who really hates it there to give me a good deal on some acreage, you know, a nice view, a nice creek, a nice place to hunt, something awful like that.

the winters in this area can be icy....the temperatures can get pretty cold but the zero temps don't last very long. it gets very windy here. we havent had much in the way of snow in the last few years. many more ice events then snow events. you get the cold air pooling at ground level and then warm gulf moisture riding over the top of it.
