(Also if anyone is interested the hydraulic oil filter for the 425 the number in Fram is P1653A or Napa 1551, at $8, no shipping and a simple trip to the auto parts store - it beats ordering it from PT.)
Purolator H32010
Wix part numbers are usually the same as Napa, but preceded with a 5, so the Wix should be a 51551
I wouldn't put a Fram on anything I own. A few years ago, a car enthusiast conducted his own survey of oil filters and posted it to the Internet. Googling will usually find a copy of the results.
He tore the filters apart and examined them to see how well they were made. By his account, the Frams were real cheapies.
I've also seen a post by an individual claiming to be an ex Allied Signal (Fram's owner) engineer that went into some detail about the cheapening of the Fram filter line. He claimed the company was dedicated to lowering the cost of production above all else, and the results were minimally performing filters.
I had no way to verify the veracity of this guy, but his claims seemed in line with what the guy doing the filter survey found, so I put Fram on my do-not-buy list.
I buy only Wix, Napa, Purolator, and Toyota--which I believe are made to spec by Purolator. I will also buy Kohler and B&S filters, if I can't find an after market version made by one of the above.
Anybody know anything about Baldwins?
