reviews and pricing comparisons for current diesel UTV's?

I purchased a Kioti Mechron last Nvember equipped with front receiver (rear is standard), mount for a winch, all the little protective bits for the suspension and an hydraulic bed lift.
$11,200. delivered.

It's done everything I have asked of it. I couldn't be happier.

I haven't heard much in the way of numbers so far in this thread. If anyone has purchased or received quotes on diesel machines let's hear about it. I received a quote today on a Kubota 1140 with "up air kit" and plastic roof for 17,191.00. With tax, insurance and other fees it's just shy of 20,000. Is this in the ballpark for what other 1140 owners paid? MSRP on the diesel trans mule is 12,200 and "up air kit" is standard on the Mule. On the Kubota site, glove box and front accessory box are listed as accessories, while they are standard on the Mule. I was initially set on the Mule because I just wasn't seeing how the Kubota could be worth almost 8,000 more, but now I'm reconsidering the Kubota because the dealer seems to be far easier to work with.

That's about what I paid for an RTV1100..

With respect to Kubota and steep hills you will much better served with the RTV 900 XT. I've heard many times that the older RTV 900s struggle with hills. My 2011 RTV 900 XT is impressive with steep hills and will pull significant loads.

I cannot speak of other UTVs.

You will need to decide if the CVT UTVs will meet your needs. I for one did not want the CVT. Only Honda and Kubota offer non-CVT. The CVT does have an advantage over other transmissions in that the repairs would be less for the CVT, although, I've not heard of any issues with the Kubota HST.

I have a older kubota 900 rtv 2006 model.The reason folks struggled with hills they did not use the low range gear.coobie

My friend has a Kioti tractor that is a real pain to service. Only two dealers in the state and both are ~150 miles away from us. Something simple like a hydraulic oil filter cannot be sourced from anyone but Kioti. I won't be making that mistake a second time.

I want to stay with an established brand that can be serviced on this side of the Atlantic/Pacific. John Deere, Kubota, Polaris, etc. all have dealer support from more then one source which is important to me in the long run.

Reading these posts, it's apparent that every brand of utv is the best, depending on what someone requires. Personally, I bought the Mechron, because of my dealer support, not because of an exhaustive indepth analysis. Sure I looked at several brands, but most dealers immediately trashed the others and insisted their brand was superior.

I think the after sales support is the biggest feature a dealer can offer. it didn't hurt that the Mechron was $4,000+ less expensive than either the Polaris diesel or the Kabota diesel.

I have had my mechron for a year now and have to say i am very content with it. May be a bit loud but all diesels are. I love the seat space

Ear defenders at the local hardware store, 2 pair/$15 and we're good to go!

One thing, 3 hours in, driving on a local woods road. hit an 18" long by 2" diameter stick with left front tire. Stick pops up under driver, through the floor and forces my foot against the accelerator. Interesting 30 seconds getting stopped! Ordered skid plates Monday!

We're fine, just gotta crack in the floor to deal with. Actually dealer is talking to Kioti's regional guy to find a way to replace the floor for me (safety concerns, etc.). See, good dealers get good reviews.

Let us know what the dealer does for you. Thats nice that he would have a concern with fixing it. I'm pretty sure it won't be under warranty.
