Just an FYI... those are non-dimmable.
Yep I always check that when changing over to LEDs. Thanks for the reminder.Just and FYI... those are non-dimmable.
Go LED or go home... well almost... you're probably already home. I am slowing converting over to LED especially when the bulb is burnt. But I'm not spending the huge sums some are selling for. Shop wise. I'm excited as I just returned from Costco with a few 4ft long 2 bulb LED fixtures at $29ea for the garage/shop. :cool2:I think I have about 49 light fixtures in my house. I like 40W incandescent bulbs. The light is nice and soft. But they don't last that long. Of those 49 fixtures, 10 have 7w CFLs. The rest are incandescent. 22 of the incandescents are dimmable. I gotta start looking for nice looking LEDs. My electric bill could stand some relief.
I isn't helping this month that we have a 42' Christmas tree with 4500 lights on it, either. 1000' of lights. Had to break it up onto two circuits this year. I started looking at LED replacement lights for that, too. But they are expensive and just as susceptible to damage as the incandescents. We also have 600 lights on the tree inside the house, 300 more on the manger outside, too. Yikes!

This is how I'm replacing my house bulbs, slow process but it will get done. It would be nice to swap the lights on my pre-wired Christmas trees to LED. I replaced dozens and dozens of bulbs this year to get it to mostly light up. I stripped them from a new strand I bought last year. So much cheaper than buying 5 bulbs at a time. If only they had an LED that fits in the socket the same way. I see you can now buy LED strands that look similar to the mini-bulbs.
Don't know why, but my wife only likes 100 watt bulbs and wants one lamp each side when she reads.
Most CFL's always seem to be 40 watt equivalent, at least around here.
She also does not like the color of LED's, true we have yet to learn the color range.
I use a Light Keeper Pro to diagnose and repair incandescent Christmas tree light strings. The thing works great. I've repaired probably close to 100 sets with it. It works really, really well!
