What is your opinion on these 3 rear finish mowers. In my area I have a choice between First Choice,
King Kutter and Caroni. Which one of these takes the first place prize? I'm interested in well made,
maintenance (easy access to grease fittings and belt changing). Is parts easier to get for one than
the other? Any special features that one of them has that the others don't.
Thanks in advance, JRF

JRF,
I have a "private label" Caroni. I have no complaints at all. Grease access and belt access is very good. It takes a lickin and keeps on cutting for me.

I think First Choice is a Caroni. Pretty sure about that. bw

Brett,

I think a First Choice is actually a Sicma. I just bought a new 84" First Choice. I've only mowed with it once (all this %^$% rain) but it works great. All of the fittings are easy to grease without removing anything and the air tires seem larger then most other brands. The guy I bought it from says it's much heavier than a Caroni but I have not looked into that. I'm happy with my choice.

I have a First Choice, 5 ft. finish mower. It works great. Cuts even and also came in blue, which matches my Iseki TU1700f. Rear discharge is the only way to go. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

First Choice is a Corvette
King Kutter is a Pinto
Caroni is an Impala

They all will work but their is a big difference in their performance.

I have a 5 foot First Choice RFM. It works extremely well. Easy access to zircs, belts, etc. This is a very well built machine and the price was really good.

I have the 6' FC with air tires and full rear discharge. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Check out my website for pics. I mow 4-5 acres a week with it and it does great on level and uneven ground. The full floating arms do a great job of allowing the mower to follow the ground.
Really nice mower.

I have a 72" First Choice RFM. I used it for the first time yesterday and I was very impressed. I had a BX22 with a 60" MMM that I traded in for my Kioti 3054, FEL and RFM. It cuts just as good as the Bota did but now I find myself looking for more grass to mow. I'm done so quick with that extra foot cutting. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
