A little update - I upgraded to a bigger gooseneck a few months ago and just picked up a John Deere 5100E on Friday. The Kubota handled to mower just fine but 100hp with this Deere is much better. I can take a full swath in almost any condition. Most of the time I'm running in B4 which is 7.5 mph (that's over 11ac an hour!). Sometimes when the grass is real tall or thick I'll downshift to B3 which is 5.5 mph.
