Gonna bite the bullet and get the bed sprayed on my '13 Silverado 4x4 crewcab. Have done a little research and talked with both dealers here in town. I am not so sure there's a hill of difference between the two, unless one of you knows something? The Rhino will cost $400, the Line-X will cost $450, plus there is an optional $100 upgrade to make it look better for life (not sure why you need that?). They both will spray on about 1/8" thick coat, so no difference there. Both have a lifetime warranty. So, I have made an appt. to get a Rhino liner sprayed in next Monday morning. Any reason to not go through with it?

I had a line-x liner sprayed on my past truck. Very tough, one thing a had to watch was to wrap any furniture in a blanket because the liner would wear the wood down if rubbing. My current truck also has a line-x liner, but it is not as rough as the last truck. I bought my current truck used so it was someone else who had it done. My biggest concern with the rhino liner was it was very soft and I knew it would do well with loading heavy objects with the tractor. A contractor friend of mine had the rhino lining and had to have it fixed a few times because he tore big chunks out of it. All of this is from over 5 years ago, so I don't know if they have changed much since.

I do my own and customer's/friends. Don't use the junk at Walmart or Auto Zone. Get the kit called Raptor off the Net. Amazon and Ebay always have them with the spray gun for $125 or so. It's the best stuff I have seen.

The Raptor liner is good stuff. I have never done a truck bed but been using it to coat implements and did the doors on my RZR. Worked GREAT and as Chris said don't mess with the stuff at the local auto store.

If I had a shop to work on my truck, I would definitely be interested in the DIY with the Raptor, but since I don't have a shop it will just be much easier to just pay to have it done. Thanks.

Did the Raptor kit on a truck I had a couple years ago based on Chris's suggestion. First time I'd ever attempted anything like that. It came out professional looking and the price was definitely right.
But if you're going to spend $400-450, get a Bedrug. Unless you plan on throwing heavy objects carelessly into the truck bed all the time, it's the way to go. Objects don't slide around in it. It's nice if you have anything that you don't want scratched or dented while being transported. Just put one in my new F250 a couple weeks ago and am very happy with it. They can be found a few places online for $413/free shipping.

The biggest thing to look at is the installer. I had a Rhino in a previous truck and currently Line-X. The install on the Line-X was far better. The installer told me Line-X measures their liners and to protect the installer for warranty it must be in spec. I was told Rhino does not. Line-X is sprayed high pressure, Rhino used to be either high or low depending on the shop equipment, not sure if that's changed. High pressure looks way better IMHO. I requested the Line-X be sprayed a little heavier around the wheel wells in the bed (area most prone to impact damage). Installer honored my request. The Rhino was a little light in those areas, thus my dented wheel wells:mad: They are both nice products, go with the shop you feel most comfortable with. Ask to see their previous work.

No shop needed. We power wash them in my driveway. Blow dry them with a leaf blower. Scoff with Scotch Brite. Wiped down with Prep All. And at sunset spray them in the field next to my barn. I would never spray in my shop. At sunset in my area there is usually no wind. Pull in the garage and let dry overnight.

I've had Rhino in my last 3 pickups. Go with over-the-rail and over-drill the drain holes bigger because they become smaller with process. Rhino has a little more "grab", but either is better than slippery painted steel beds.
