Hi All,

Does anyone have a snow plow for a Rhino. How do they work and what kind do you have?

I need scoop!

PS. Did you get your Yamaha doors installed yet?

I have a 6 foot Cycle Country plow with a Warn 4 winch. The rhino does a very nice job with plowing. The only issue I had was the pins on the push tubes were cheap. I went to TSC and bought some better pins. I used to plow with the tractor and can say that it much quicker with the rhino.

I have not gotten my doors put on yet. I will towards the end of October.

Thanks for the reply, do you use chains when plowing?

I had my door installed Saturday, there are the nicest looking ones I've seen yet. Best of all they are free.

I do not use chains when plowing. One reason is that I have an asphalt driveway and the other is that I use ITP Terra Cross tires that have pretty good traction.

I also plow with a my Rhino. I have a 2.5 mile driveway up over a mountain at 3,000 ft. I have the 72" Cycle Country also. You Have to be sure that the plow is wide enough so your tires don't run in unplowed snow.

I found that it is best to plow as soon as the snow falls, obviously is it alot lighter then. I also found that the winch cable will fray and break quickly so I bought the winch Rope and it has worked great.
I don't have chains on the tires. Never really needed them. most of the time I am not even in diff lock, just 4wd.
Cycle Country is awesome to deal with. I egg shaped one of the holes in the plow ( from constant use I'm sure ) I called them and asked what I could do to fix the problem. They sent me a whole new plow FREE OF CHARGE !! ( without the push bars though.)
My driveway is all gravel and I just set the feet up high so I don't dig in and it leaves about 1-2 inches of snow on the road.
I would Highly recommend a plowing wiht the rhino. It works great, you will be surprised how much snow you can push. I plowed 22" off the road last winter with no problems at all.
if you want more info on your rhino check out this site. RUV - Recreational Utility Vehicles - UtilityOffRoad.com

BTW, you will need a quality winch also, Ramey or Warn. It will get used ALOT when plowing so I wouldn't take the chance with the cheaper winches. The plows are heavy and if the winch breaks while the plow is down you are pretty much screwed and will be walking.

I own the 660 and I have a brand new Moose 6' plow on it, but it is going up for sale. It just weighs to much for the front end of the Rhino even with the shocks cranked all the way up. When it is all the way up it only clears the ground by about 3 to 4" and if it is angled the corner just about digs in. I believe the shipping weight was close to or just over 350 pounds. The dealer sold it to me so I thought it would be OK. Not to my satisfaction any way. I just purchased the one supplied by Rhino and pick it up this weekend. The weight is a lot less as it is a composite material but I do not know the exact weight as of this writing. Whoops, I forgot about the doors. Yes I had them installed, but elected not to have the extra passenger hand hold installed. :)

Never used a Rhino, but I used to plow with my sportsman 500. You won't believe how well it will plow! Never used chains. The only time I had any trouble was a deep wet snow. No big deal as my buddy who plows with his 3/4 ton Ford said he couldn't get through the snow as easily as I was. He was shocked as to the ease I went through the snow.
The Rhino looks as though it will plow more easily than the sportsman, so you will be VERY happy. Many times I wouldn't even realize I wasn't in 4wd until 1/2 of the drive was plowed. Only difference was I could feel the backend move a little in 2wd. 4wd was awesome.
My drive is approx. 225 feet and dirt. Large turn around area at the top. Just make sure you push the snow back far enough in case you get a lot of snow!

Here is a picture of the new 1/4 doors that they are putting on the Rhino's for safety purposes (Recall retrofit). I like them and it does keep a lot of splashing mud/water off of ones legs. :)

By the looks of things, seem like it would help keep out the mud & spatter that one can get ~~~~~~
