Thanks, Bob. It's just a decorative windmill. I let it get rusty so it would look old. I have it over my well, and I always tell people that it pumps our water, most believe me! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif But it's just decorative.

We haven't done any new work on the tractor barn. We have to finish work on the house before we get to that. The tractor barn should be done by yhe end of the summer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ahhh...the smell of sawdust in the morning. Makes me nostalgic. It's coming along great. I meant to mention before, that 30# felt is best under that roof. Two layers of fifteen will work as well.

Thanks for asking Paul. The job isn't done, but its moving along. We've got the slate floor down, and the sheetrock and moldings up. We've even started painting.

But the job has expanded. We decided that if we're replacing all the crummy old siding on the house, we might as well replace all the windows. And we hoped to save at least some of the 200 year old siding, underneath the crummy siding put up in the 1930's. Well, all the old siding is dry rotted, and we have to replace it, which we've already started. It just kills me to pull of that old siding with all the hand made old nails, but it can't be saved.

Last week, while riping out the siding, we found that all of the sills on the front of the house were rotted, and basically, the roof structure was holding up the house. So we had to jack up the whole house and replace the sills.

The project is expanding so much, that we're rapidly running out of money, and we'll probably have to get a home equity loan to finish it!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well, Rich, the rotted sills are not good, but look at it this way. Its already apart. Pluss, you cought it before it got to the rest of the house. It's just like an old wood boat, after some years you may have to replace a frame, deck, or a plank or two, but if you keep up with it, it keeps the nice clasic lines it always had.

So keep up the good work Rich. It will be nice when it's done.
