Here's the latest from my local New Holland Dealer regarding the oil refill capacity for a TD95D. They admitted the manual specified capacities were in error. They said that this model used several different engines. She asked "So what'sthe correct refill quantity?" and they said the engine was the same as the JX95 (CaseIH) and it used the same dipstick (P/N 99441833). The Case IH numbers say 8.4 quarts to refill the crankcase + 0.74 qts to fill the filter for a total of 9.14 quarts. They apparently never specifically did give her a direct answer to what the TD95D was but it's safe to say that if the correct dipstick is used you will put the correct quantity in the crankcase. The service manager in Dillon (the main office for the local NH dealership) said, since I put three gallons in, drain off a gallon and refill to the dipstick. That will give me an idea of the correct quantity. That's what i was planning on doing. New Holland did say that they are going to revise the manuals.
So until I drain out some oil, I'll go with the 9.14 quarts and use the dipstick to to check.
Thanks to RickB and Jbrink64 and Sweep, who took the time to answer. You guys can mark your manuals with this info until the heavy breathers in Racine send you the manual revisions.(I think CNH is headquartered in Racine aren't they?).
