Ride on mower bogs down, stalls, when mowing blades engaged

Blade may have picked up wire or nylon garden twine and wrapped round the spindle. Plastic bags (fertilizer, mulch, ect) can do this too, generally makes a lot of noise during winding process. Twine and wire usually go unnoticed at 3 mph.

Possibly the above, or accumulation of clippings caked under the deck, amazing how thick it builds up in the Spring when the grass is damp.

I have that same Husky mower, and when that happened to me, it was a loose wire on the deck mower shut-off safety.

For me it was fine under normal mowing, but the second I hit a bump, the wire would be disconnected and bog out on me. I ended up just reattaching the wire.

I am wondering if you are running on both cylinders. Most people don't notice it or don't know what it sounds like. May try removing one spark plug wire or using a pick with a wire on it to ground the plugs individually and see how it runs If it slows down and seems missy the move to the other cylinder. if it dies when you ground one cylinder or don't hear a change then that would be were to start investigating.

Hey! I Think this IS what痴 going on. I put an idiot light on one ignition wire and it was good. Tested the other and nothing. Will order new coil. Just weird that there痴 4 number series. When I search the top 2 I get one coil. When I search the other 2 numbers I get a different coil.

Post the engine numbers if you need help with parts look up. Kohler has several different ignition systems.

I had a similar issue one time; the deck belt had broken and got lodged under a spindle. "I would do as suggerst above, and check over the belts/spindles and make sure everything is moving freely.
