Riding mower vs BX

I am actually switching from a jd riding mower to a MMM. I can't take all the bouncing anymore on the lawn mower. I have never used a MMM before, but I do know that my NH tc29d rides so much nicer over my grass.

As far as getting caught in a snowstorm and taking off MMM in freezing temps, shame on you for not being prepared...

How dare you mistake my laziness for a lack of preparation.

Or you take the MMM off for a forecasted snow storm that doesn't happen.

My guess is snowstorms don't usually happen during grass cutting season. Maybe before 1st cut. Rare during...

I told my wife my thoughts on selling the mower and she got sad about it and said we should just keep both that way she could be working on the mower while I was running the tractor. I’m a blessed man

When I first bought my BX I had a 54” JD riding mower. I thought I would use it some. I finally sold it because I preferred mowing with the BX. Maybe if I had a nice smooth yard with no hills it might have been a different story.

Respectfully offering for consideration, if someone has their MMM mounted and then a snowstorm happens, it might not be that fun taking the MMM off in the freezing cold if there's snow to be plowed and the MMM needs to come off.

Opinions and preferences differ from person to person. It's a good thing for the OP to hear differing perspectives on the pros and cons so the OP can make the best decision for the OPs personal needs and preferences.

Doesn't give me any trouble pushing snow with the MMM on. Might pile a little snow on it, but that swipes right off. Besides the extra weight helps.

Dad did that with my 60" MMM one winter on his BX2230. The next fall he wanted to remove it for the winter(smart) and the wheels on the deck were rusted in place and would not turn to slide the mower deck out. That really makes removing the deck a pain. But I have left my 54" deck on while using the loader backfilling around the house foundation. Loader arms comes off when we haul my BX2230 to a friend's yard to mow. Jon

My old neighbor had different tractors for different work. One had a dedicated tiller attached to it. One had a bush hog attached to it. One was big with front-end loader for heavy work. Had a mower for his wife one one for himself. I asked him why he had all this stuff. He said "the older you get the less time you want spending on changing attachments". I know it probably does not take that long to take the mower off but the other day I was real busy. I was taking off the box blade and putting on my tiller, in a rush. Needless to say, had to get the hammer/WD-40 out and do some pounding/cussing. Nothing was going my way.

I hope one day I will have tractor for each of my most important attachments. Still dreaming about that.
My point is, it is one more step to have to do if you need the tractor for something else where the mower gets in the way. It is really not a big deal but if you are impatient like me then you might want to keep dedicated equipment for specific jobs. It also boils down to money as well.

Either way, you are going be happy to have a sub-compact to assist in all your work you want to accomplish.

There was a long time poster who passed away I believe several years ago Lbrown. I think he had three BX tractors all setup for different tasks.
