Riding my bicycle and BX25D

I was riding my bicycle about and sometimes I make a point to ride by the Kubota dealer to look at attachments. I was studying the design of the backhoe on a BX25D. Some fellow drives up and parks a relatively new (less than 10 year old) Dodge pickup. I mentioned something about the price of the backhoe probably being $5,000. I do not know if he was half deaf but he proceeds to say he would not mind a tractor like the BX25D guessing that it was $5,000 tractor. I said more like $15-20k, repeating that a backhoe is often $5k. He was not as interested when he heard the likely real price. Looking at the Kubota web site MSRP $19,950 without tax. Neat tool that BX with a backhoe.

Some people have no idea what hydraulic equipment costs--let alone high quality, diesel-powered hydraulic equipment.

Which is probably better for them, in the end, anyway, right?

11 years ago I bought my first Kubota tractor, a BX2200 FEL MMM. I couldn't believe I was paying near $10,000 for a lifetime lawnmower with high priced wheelbarrow on the front. Bought 16 more Kubotas since then and most of them cost a lot more. I had no idea how much they cost, none, but had to start learning at some point and probably went away mumbling how crazy people were/are (sellers and buyers).:confused2::confused3::thumbdown::shocked:
Had one of those BX25s about 2 or 3 years ago and paid around $16000 for it and thought I got a bargain price.:cool2: How things change with a little bit of education and time or we're (buyers and sellers) a bit crazy. :cool2:

I think a lot of people go into the big box store and see and a $2000 lawn mower and think a CUT is the next step up. They don't realize there are $10,000 lawn tractors.

I ran into this issue with my dad. He wanted to replace his garden tractor with a cut. He quickly changed his mind after I told him and he saw what they cost.lol

Had a BX22 ( bought new and my first Bota) TLB MMM and PTO bagger. All said and done was about 20k out the door. Had it for 6 years and sold it for 14k ish. Wish I still had it but needed a larger tractor.

I rebelled for awhile at the $10,000 figure for a BX2200 SCUT (sub compact utility tractor) and later bought a B7800 CUT and later went to a Grand L3240 tractor, a lot more money. Have since bought three Kubota F models that mostly just mow in the above/around $18,000/$24,000 range. I do squirm a bit but for what they do for me they obviously are worth the money. I just pay monthly till Kubota Credit quits taking it out of my checking account which they did on two Fs in the last couple of months.:cool2:
