I am looking for a rim guard dealer close to me. I live in Gray Court, S.C. in Laurens county. The rear tires on my tractor are 8.3 x 16. How much should I expect to have to pay for this procedure? The tires do have tubes in them and no known leaks. thanks zman

Anitfreeze and water would sure be alot less money, but then again ya cant take it with you. Seriously though, with the tubes in there you wouldnt have and corrosion issues and the sierra brand is supposedly non toxic?

according to the chart on the link he sent it will only take about 12 to 13 gallons to fill each tire, so it wont be too bad. zman

I filled mine with blue windshield washer fluid using a cheap valve from TSC and a old bilge pump from a boat. Total cost was $50 and took about 2 hours and 40 gallons, 20 per tire, to do it. Just get the blue stuff on sale for about a $1 per gallon.

WWF will not rust your rims. The old Calcium would but it took 30 years to do so.

rim guard will weigh more / gal

You are right it does weigh more. WWF weighs about 8.5 pounds per gallon while Rim Guard weighs 10.7 pounds per gallon. In my case it took 20 gallons per wheel or 40 gallons total. So WWF weighed in at 8.5x40=340# and cost $50 Rim Guard weighed 10.7x40=428# and would have cost over $300. Cost was $6.50 per gallon plus set up fee. I was willing to give up 88# for a $250 savings. The poser is only talking about using 24 gallons so the weight loss is only around 40#.
