I viewed some of the other Rino rollovers on U-Tube and as a retired Mechanical Engineer I can tell you they have suspension problems. They are rolling over when they should not due to suspension problems that start them bouncing and I suspect weight distribution.

That statement says the case is still pending, CR is appealing the re-instatement of the case.

The release stated:

"No Demand For Monetary Compensation

The subject lawsuit has been dismissed, and Suzuki has not demanded or received monetary compensation."

Maybe Suzuki has decided to try again?? I didn't read that anywhere, but with lawyers, anything is possible. I do know, as opposed to what was previously stated in this thread, Suzuki certainly did NOT receive any 60 million from Consumer Reports in any law suit.

I worked for a dealership selling them in the late 80's. They weren't very good sellers after CR proved that they flipped easier than any other vehicle on the road. I even drove one as a demo for a short while. We had some people try, unsuccessfully, to return them to the dealership after they purchased them. Either way, they are now but a blip in automotive history. Parts are not readily available for them and nobody in our local 4X4 club even owns one anymore.

Funny how threads can twist and turn. The op asked
Does anyone have any information as to why the lawyers are advertising on TV for folks that have been killed or injured in Rino accedents to contact them.
I made a comparison to the Samurai consumer reports issue.(simply because the 2 were similar) Now the thread is about my comparison.
Altho I never stated that Suzuki received 60 million I did state that they won a 60 mil judgement which was incorrect.
They were seeking 60 mil. Please excuse me. This was in 1988 and I was going from memory recall. At least I had the correct amount. :)

Suzuki sued for $60 Million in damages and unspecified punitive damages. However, after an 8-year legal battle, both sides settled out of court through mutual consent in 2004.

Just read the joint statement, the case was discontinued on consent of both parties.

Maybe that is true where you live. I own an 88 Sammy and parts are not a problem. Type Suzuki Samurai in google. If they are a blip they are a big blip. :D
BTW: My apologies to the OP for being involved in this topic going astray.
