RIP Ellie, our Corgi

It's with heavy heart I'm posting about the death of our beloved Corgi.









She came into my life as my son's dog. She was the happiest most friendly dog I've loved and cared for.

In February she was diagnosed with meningitis and prescribed lot's of drugs. She got better for a while but ended up spending about 2 weeks off and on in Emergency ($$$$$) care. But the drugs seemed to not take effect the last time, her blood count went low, and the vets thought it would be an up and down fight to keep her alive. She stopped eating and drinking. My son and I decided it was time to let her rest. The vet did the injections.

This is probably my fifth dog I've had to have put down and every one gets worse :bawling::bawling:

If you've got a dog hug it, love it and enjoy life with it.

/edit - She was only on Earth from October 2011 until May 2016 and with us from 6 weeks old

It is a hard thing - time will eventually help, but it never goes completely away.
You can't replace them, but another dog in your life helps. All our sympathy and good wishes !

So sorry Newbury about your loss......I know how hard it is to loose a loving companion. Sounds like your pup was lucky to have you and your son......remember the good times.

Hi newbury... I feel your loss. Dogs are indeed special and are so much apart of our lives. The pain eases but you will never forget them and that's a good thing. So so hard to put down and deal with the guilt even knowing it's for the best. But now I think of my beloved Nikki and she just brings me smiles years later.

We've got a corgi, they are the most loveablr little dogs out there.

Godspeed Ellie! Putting your dog down is hard. One of the few times that I have cried. I can't understand why dogs live such short lives. My last two labs lived to 15yrs each but still much too short. This might help:
