Alan, I don't think that any of us have seen this happen before, and there is a good chance that Kubota may not have seen it either. Even though it is far out of warranty, I would bring it up with your dealer / Kubota field rep. Sometimes they will back something like this. Sometimes too, there can be a batch of parts that get out that are found later to have defects, and the company will back them though out of warranty. I had a carrier pin fail in a Chevy rear end once way out of warranty, but Chevy aknowledged that there were some bad ones in that serial number range, and they covered the repair. It's worth a shot anyway.
