Ouch, I see the attachment is bent, but are the lower 3pt arms bent in that pic as well? What did you hook?

The 3 pt. is fine.

I didn't hook anything. It just gradually bent into that shape as I was ripping some old weedy pasture to till and re-plant. Sod can be VERY tough.

I have no experience with the 3pt. Looking at it, Im amazed it can take much strain, maybe a steady pull but running a ripper into anything fairly hard, and fairly quick I could see the pins attaching the 3pt lower arms to the tractor breaking or something. But I dont hear much damage from them. I'm amazed. I would probably build one strong enough that the cross member between the two lower arms would hold for sure.

The tabs that the 3 point arms connect to are plenty heafty. The only 3 pt. damage I hear of is the ears for the top link breaking. The only time I've heard of that is when there's a combination of a 3 pt. backhoe and some pretty heavy over use (abuse).

Yeah it amazes me. How about people pushing backwards with a blade.

Rumor has it that it's not good for a tractor, but I've never heard or even read a first hand account of it happening. I find that when I push backward, the blade tends to lift more, and I don't get the ground engagement like I want. It's as if going backward creates even less force on the arms for me.
