rippers

Bird,
The blurry image gradually becoming more clear is called "interlacing". As I understand it, it's use dates back to slower modems. By using this interlaced image, the web site visitor was given some immediate feedback so that they knew their modem or system hadn't frozen and was actually doing something.

Solo,

I almost forgot to reply to the original thread. I have a BX 2200 (22hp diesel) and a Worksaver 'economy' Ripper. I have absolutely no fears about breaking or bending this thing with my tractor - I don't think you'll have to worry about getting anything too beefy. The limiting factor will be getting enough traction to pull those bushes out with it - but you can always try!

I'd bet that the brush brute method would work better - using the lifting capacity on your 3pt instead. Since I have a ripper I wouldn't hesitate on giving it a try though (once the ground has thawed). Another idea is to cut them and kill them off this year - and rip them up next year. The root system will be quite a bit weaker.

That sounds good to me, Hoss. I've just wondered why some do it one way and some another.

I usually cut them and let them set, some have set for almost 3 years. I'll probably cut some more this week in a different area. Thanks for the info, I'll look at the Worksaver.

I don't know if you've seen this yet but someone made a mini version of the "brush brute" to fit on a three point instead of the bucket. If I had a lot of brush to clear this would be a must. Looks like it would do what you want really easily

Can you re-feed the image? My system will not bring this up for some reason.

Perhaps you didn't notice, but those posts were put up nearly seven and a half years ago. Chances are slim those guys are going to be looking for replies to a discussion that took place that long ago.

BTW, almost all images from back then don't load now because of a complete server change done about four years ago.
