I filled my home heating oil tank a few days before the blackout for 99 cents a gallon...... the day after the blackout, it had jumped to $1.20 ......... guess that all that fuel in the storage tanks at the heating oil dealer was effected also. They have about 100,000 gallons of storage...... multiply that by the increase and it sure represents a tidy profit for being in the right place at the right time. Interestingly enough, the propane dealer says that propane cost is not related to the cost of oil based products, but it also rises and falls on the retail level in direct correlation to fuel prices.....
