RK tractors are made by TYM

I was interested in trading my Mahindra in on a cab Tym t554 or maybe a cab t394. I called the nearest Tym dealer once a week for three weeks and every time I was told they were interested and would get right back to me. I’m still waiting on that call a few weeks later lol. Oh well Mahindra wants me to trade with them but not enough to make me jump but was told they are also going to be selling Tym along side the Mahindra shortly. I noticed some Mahindra dealerships are already selling the Tym brand but don’t know how many are taking them on. Is this something anyone else has noticed?

RK Tractors 19-55 HP will continue to have Yanmar engines. Our 74 HP tractor will continue to have a Deutz engine. We specify content in our tractors and TYM builds to that spec.

RK Tractor Guy, does TYM manufacture the loaders and mower deck for your tractors? Do they vary from those offered on their own tractors? Or are they made by someone else. I'm looking at sub compact to compact sized tractors. Something comparable to a Kubota B or L series in size/capability - but without the orange sticker shock. Thanks! Nick

Yes, loaders, backhoes, mid-mower decks all made by TYM, and just as the tractors, priced far below the market.

Just throwing this out there for what it's worth. I bought an RK55, shuttle, open cab almost a year ago. 76 hours now with FEL, backhoe, brush cutter, box blade, 6-way blade, landscape rake and a 9" bucket to go with the 16" bucket that came with the backhoe. All from Rural King. No problems or concerns with any of it. I took it in for the initial 50 hour service, and the techs were great. Explained everything and did a great job. Also came in on a Saturday (shop usually closed on Sat, Sun) because I couldn't get in during the week. So for customer service, a major 'thumbs up'! I've been very happy with my purchase and the service. I've not had anything go wrong with the tractor yet, so I can't speak to warranty work, but I've no reason to think they would do anything but stand behind their product. Just my 2 cents.

That is good to hear. I am considering the same model. The RK Tractor center is a bit further away from me than I would like, but they have put together a nice package with those tractors so I'm not ruling it out. As for RK standing behind their product, I believe they will and they have some incentive to do so. Even if they were to discontinue the line they are still on the hook for the warranty obligations they have made. They are acting as a manufacturer so if they try to duck out under anything short of bankruptcy (highly unlikely) they would have the Commerce Department, FTC and a thousand eager lawyers working them over. In the end it is a TYM with a Yanmar engine. Yanmar certainly isn't going anywhere. TYM is seeing solid growth. Who knows what the situation will be with them in 20 years when you are more likely to need parts, but the reality is that in the compact class you have TYM, Kioti (Daedong), LS and Yanmar. No matter who's sticker comes on it, those are the four that supply most of the world volume for these tractors so there would be a lot of owners in the same boat if there were a problem.
