Hello,

I snapped the belt on my RM-59-2 this weekend, does anyone have a link to a diagram of the routing for this belt. Any little tricks to getting it on more easily?

And, can it be purchased for less than $70, ouch!!

The part # on the belt is Woods Bros 31700.

Should of been using the Brush Hog, /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks,
Curt

OK, I found a belt locally for $32, that's the good news.
I'm pretty sure I got it threaded right except for the TWIST I can't get out of it.

Here's a picture of my dilemma!

Anybody got a better suggestion than heavy alcohol consumption?

We sell that belt for $60.90 and it is a Kevlar belt.

I have locals that have burned up store belts several times in a season then got a Woods and it lasted.

Woods V belts have a 12 month warranty

Not a bad deal.

Hope this helps

Thanks Dave,
I'll keep that in mind depending on the longevity of this one.
I think I'll call Woods tomorrow and see if someone there can give me some direction on the twist in the belt. I'm guessing you might want to start somewhere with a half twist that is later negated by the 90 degree turns?

Everyday, a learning experience!!

I called Woods today and asked for a copy of the belt guide to be faxed to me. Much to my surprise, the stretch of belt between the rear pulleys is supposed to have one full twist, don't seem right, but it's right there in the manual.

Curt,
Here is a PDF of how the belt goes so you can save it on your computer and for anyone else who may need it.

Thanks Rich,
Woods' website is a pretty big disappointment, no support of any kind. Your PDF is a lot clearer than the Fax I received from Woods today.

They have been helpful at Woods when I call them, I just don't understand why they wouldn't have all this stuff on the web. King Kutter does!

You aren't the same Rich from Marshalville are you?

Ready to mow in Ohio!!

You'll notice this belt path is for the RM-59-3, it has one less pulley than the 59-2 and the path is slightly different. I'll convert the 59-2 document to PDF and post it this weekend.

I converted a couple of pages from the Woods manual to PDF and the file size is about 750K. It's the belt path plus a parts breakdown with part numbers, handy if you have this mower. I can't post it here, if you're interested email me and I'll send it to you.

Happy mowing! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
